Why I'm Approaching this Year's in-cosmetics Global Differently

As the Founding Editor of Cosmetics Design, I spent more than a decade leading the publication. Over that time, one thing became very clear.
Ingredient innovation alone rarely guarantees editorial coverage.
Some fascinating technologies never make it into the trade press. Meanwhile. other ingredients gain widespread visibility across the industry.
The difference is usually not the science.
It is the story.
Editors are looking for narratives that connect scientific innovation with formulation relevance and wider industry trends.
That insight is the reason I launched Pitman Comms.
Ahead of this year’s in-cosmetics Global in Paris, I will be spending time speaking with ingredient suppliers about how their science and technology can be translated into stories that editors actually want to publish.
It is less about traditional PR support and more about editorial positioning.
Sometimes, a small shift in how a story is framed can make the difference between a press release that disappears into an inbox and one that becomes a widely read article across the beauty trade press.
If you are exhibiting at in-cosmetics Global and would like an editorial perspective ahead of the show, feel free to reach out.
